Key OpenMRS Modules used

Modules are tightly dependent on one another. A number of errors originate because two module versions are incompatible with one another. Hence we always recommend using an OpenMRS Distribution. This ensures that a group of modules and their versions are compatible with one another. Modules and dependencies are defined in the pom.xml file.

Occasionally you may need to refer to the source code of individual modules, one of the most heavily used modules is the REST API module. The links to the source code repositories as well as the module manager is provided in the above link. Module documentation may not always be up to date. While there may not be documentation for a particular feature you would like, sometimes that feature has already been built but simply not documented. In such a situation we recommend you always post a question on the Talk forums to get more details about module features.
